Recovery Coaching

TIME FOR CHANGE

When we drink and take drugs to excess, it can be really hard to see the impact on our lives. We might even be in a downward spiral and actually not even notice. Part of us keeps saying inside that everything is OK, but deeper underneath that voice, we have a gnawing feeling, that something has to change.

Perhaps things aren’t too bad, but we know if we don’t change, things are going to get worse.

We end up being overwhelmed by our drinking/using but at the same time we are overwhelmed by the thought of quitting.

Maybe you have tried to cut back, change what you’re drinking or using, stayed away from friends who drink, go on a juice cleanse, health retreats, even therapy, but as much as you have tried, you keep ending up back in the same place or a worse place over and over. Perhaps it’s time for some 1:1 support and a roadmap to a new way of living with accountability and help every step of the way?

How would it feel to have support and co-create a plan to change your relationship with alcohol or drugs?

And where that plan included repairing and strengthening your self-trust, day-by-day steps for healthy living, and once you’re stabilized, exploring your goals and dreams for a better future.

Recovery Coaching will help you have a clear plan of action in place for your recovery, as well as accountability and support as you live your life free from alcohol/drugs.

HERE’S HOW IT LOOKS:

Weekly or twice-weekly 1:1 online video sessions where you check-in, get grounded and spiritually connected, celebrate your wins, work through your challenges, and create a plan for the next steps

During your early sessions, we’ll build a roadmap and a plan that helps you heal and supports your recovery. The plan may include:

  1. Identifying triggers, feelings, and needs with strategies to prevent slips and recurring patterns.

  2. Action items that will allow for your healing and your self-esteem to grow

  3. Spiritual practices to help you find peace and clarity.

Whether your goals are to moderate or quit entirely, changing your relationship to alcohol/drugs and returning to yourself via your strengths is what Recovery Coaching is all about.

  1. One-to-One Online Video Sessions

  2. Text messaging if you’re needing a quick response within office hours

  3. Email outside of scheduled session time

  4. Phone calls rather than online video sessions or for calls less than 10mins outside of scheduled sessions

Believe me, I have been there and after almost a decade of attempting to stop drinking on my own, I finally got help. Quitting was just something I couldn’t do on my own. Once I stopped I realized that my drinking was just a symptom of underlying challenges and then began my journey of recovery. Being inspired by recovery as a catalyst for transformation, I trained and worked extensively for ten years in the field of addictions and recovery. I worked in residential treatments centres and recovery houses for both men and women, outpatient recovery agencies, and also career transition programs with a wide variety of people along the harm-reduction spectrum from moderating drinking or using, to those who were abstinent. In Recovery Coaching sessions, I am committed to holding a trauma-informed space with a focus on healing and mindfulness. My training in Family Systems counselling, Somatic Self-Regulation Therapy, and Coaching allows for a practical and soul-centred approach that I know can help you to freedom.
