TECHNICAL & OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Zoom & WiFi
The courses bi-weekly online classes are hosted on Zoom. You will need an updated version of Zoom and a stable wifi connection.
Aside from your sessions, the best way to access support and mentorship is through WhatsApp. You can download the app for your phone from your app store. Note: there is also a desktop app. You can read all about WhatsApp here.
Spotify
Though not a requirement you may enjoy Angela’s Spotify playlists created just for the occasion throughout the year.
Get Comfortable
You’ll need a quiet space for our online classes where you will not be disturbed, ideally with the space to lie down and move around.
Also you might like a bandanna or eye cover for journeying and a binder if you would like to download and print out handouts.
Some IMPORTANT NOTEs ABOUT our live ONLINE GATHERINGS
EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING IN COMMUNITY
The nature of the journey through the apprenticeship is one of healing and transformation. This means that you may experience discomfort due to the heavy, unconscious material that gets stirred up. When that happens, you will likely experience some reluctance. Your ego might question your choice to be here, your body might become very tired and lethargic, and your mind may give you a thousand reasons not to show up. Reluctance can make showing up to our Zoom calls (where accountability is lower) really challenging.
On the days when you think you’re not enough, or too much, too tired, too busy, or too messed up - it’s important to show up. Just arrive as you are!
It’s on those days that the rest of us will have the joy of holding space for you and sharing our energy to carry you along. And on other days you will have the joy of reciprocating!
You see, unlike regular school learning, this journey happens mostly through osmosis. That means that the heart of this apprenticeship comes through the transmission and experience within community. So simply being in the space and being as present as you can on any given day is how you will receive and learn.
Remember that all of our online time leads in to our in-person gatherings, so your presence is important both for yourself and for the important part that you play in our collective.
CLASSES ARE LIVE WITH NO RECORDINGS
Although providing recordings for all sessions seems to be standard practice at the moment, it’s also an easy ticket to not show up when things get challenging, or to not prioritise the classes. Due to the experiential nature of this work and that building the community container is an essential part of this, please remember that recordings aren’t part of this journey.
You will receive worksheets and other materials as we go along, so don’t be too worried about not having all the information, instead focus on your inner work and the experience you are having as this will be your greatest teacher.
I am a neurodivergent person which means that I have had my fair share of challenges with learning and the shame spiral of not showing up or not doing something “properly”. If you can relate to that, you will completely understand that we welcome you however you are and trust you’ll simply do your best. Let’s keep the channel of communication open as we have tips we can share that will support your learning.
